Girikon assisted Maropost streamline sales processes to catch up with its vision of creating a unified global presence while maintaining operational excellence.
Maropost is a unified commerce stack tech company providing an all-in-one solution for marketing automation, e-commerce and inventory management. Founded in 2011 as an Email Service Provider delivering marketing campaigns and automation, it has continuously added innovative marketing and commerce solutions to its impressive suite of products.
Having won the Deloitte Fast 50 awards consecutively from the year 2015 to 2019 and gained over 5000 customers around the world, Maropost today has surely surpassed its initial ambitions. However, it has been and will always stay true to its mission of providing its customers with a commerce platform that is constantly improving to cater to their needs.
A fast-growing company
Maropost’s goal is to incorporate advanced tools and features into its platform to help clients better design their customer journey. With that goal in mind, the company has been actively building additional products to the unified platform. In 2022, Maropost went through two major acquisitions of Retail Express and Findify to expand the platform’s capabilities with AI-driven product search and recommendation as well as excellent POS features.
The business was rapidly growing, and so was the need to synchronise the operational platforms and streamline the procedures globally. “Having completed some important acquisitions over the previous months, we quickly needed to merge a lot of our operational aspects, in a way that could support our rapidly growing business,” says Carmelo, Director of Revenue Operations at Maropost. “At the time, we also needed to implement a more scalable process for the sales team and consequently for the post-sales activities.”
The wish to fine-tune all the current merging projects urged the Maropost team to contact Girikon, “a recommended partner by Salesforce itself,” Carmelo adds, “but we also did our own investigation and found that Girikon did have a proven track record of success over the past years.”
A start off on the right foot
“Our first interaction was very encouraging because Girikon immediately plotted a broad plan of attack,” he recalls, “but also was flexible and understanding our urgencies and that we need help to adapt and overcome during the project some of the challenges we had at the time in Maropost.”

Girikon swiftly carried out the plan of attack first by determining the initial requirements to stabilise the platform. The Salesforce partner then implemented a series of quick fixes, such as making modifications to the picklist values associated with opportunities and creating a record type for web assets. Thanks to the quick fixes, Maropost could organise its web assets more effectively within the Salesforce platform.
A long-term improvement
The quick fixes were an urgent measure that Girikon took to stabilise the platform and allow Maropost staff to resume Business as Usual (BAU) tasks. After some level of stabilisation was achieved, Girikon helped the company migrate HubSpot, Zoho and Zendesk to Salesforce. Besides that, Girikon also integrated Maropost’s billing and marketing system with Salesforce.
Carmelo praised Girikon’s ability in suggesting and implementing a seemingly simple process that is actually comprised of various underlying processes. One example is the concept of sales orders, an object in Salesforce that was not utilised prior to this implementation. He states, “We now use [this process] to better forecast and report over time… and use it as a baseline for all our revenue calculations.”
Data migration and system integration completed by Girikon were highly regarded by Maropost because they gave Maropost executive team a cohesive solution to sell their five different products on Maropost’s unified platform across the globe.
Having accomplished a spotless standardised process to achieve the goal of a unified sales process and reducing redundant manual data entry into multiple, Maropost continues pushing beyond the current limits of what can be achieved in marketing and commerce automation to pave the way for more personalised and seamless shopping experiences in the future.

Overall, I would say I had a fantastic experience with Girikon. I think their strength is being a perfect mix of teamwork and individual specialists inside the team. Girikon team is very dynamic and was very dynamic with us too in resource management.
Moving forward, Carmelo believes that a partnership between Maropost and Girikon will continue for a long time. “But even if we’ve ended our business relationship, we do still have a solid rapport with them,” he recalls. “And they’ve actually helped us with a couple of access, aspects after we closed the project that we needed some clarity on, and they were very happy to step back in quickly and just point us in the right direction.”
